Force Resettlement


This 5 week City & Guilds level 3 course is aimed at those looking to enter into the world of property development and property conversions using sustainable building methods.  The course will give a good understanding of how to repair and maintain buildings as well as develop new building projects but using sustainable methods of construction. The course will cover topics such as:
  • waste management
  • building regulations
  • energy consumption
  • materials used for sustainable construction
  • regulations and methodologies in sustainable construction
  • insulation methods.
In addition to these theoretical studies, independent study will form part of the course in order to complete assignments.  You will also visit two sustainable projects and a new build exhibition and will attend some evening theory sessions to gain additional knowledge provided by industry experts.  Your 5 weeks will include practical sessions in bricklaying, carpentry, plastering, plumbing and tiling in order to achieve the units required.  Once the course has finished, you will have to up to 12 months to submit your assignments, your tutor will set an action plan for achievement. The full City & Guilds qualification consists of 11 units and evening theory session attendance may also be required.   If you are a Force Resettlement Learner this is an ELCAS approved course and grants are able to be used towards course costs.
