Train4All Construction Academy offer fully funded apprenticeships for 16-19 year olds and partially funded apprenticeships for those who are over the age of 19.  Apprenticeships are available in Bricklaying, Carpentry, and Property Maintenance Operatives.

As an apprentice you will build knowledge and gain practical skills in order to gain qualifications, all whilst working for an employer and earning money. You will have a contract of employment and be entitled to holidays and other terms of employment just like the rest of the workforce.  We have a dedicated team that can assist you in finding the right employer if you have not already secured a placement.

Working alongside local employers, Train4All aim to ensure that young people undertake quality training both in the workplace and at the centre. Apprentices attend our facilities in Somerton or South Molton on a block release basis attending for 4 days every month.  During the block week, training is delivered practically and theoretically within individual trade workshops, you will work towards gaining either an apprenticeship framework or standard along with Functional Skills in Maths and English.  All aspects are taught by a qualified teaching team, many of which are still working in industry so have up to date knowledge and practices.

During the programme which can last from 12 months to 2 years our training co-ordinator will visit you in the workplace to review your progress against your individual training plan. They will liaise with mentors and supervisors and provide guidance and support throughout the programme to enable your achievement.  Once you have reached the end of  your training, you may have to be independently externally assessed  to prove your skills (depending upon the programme you are following).  Once you have passed this independent end point assessment your tutors and your employer will provide advice and guidance on how you can then progress your career further to move up the construction ladder.
