Forces Resettlement

If you are looking to gain a full trade CSCS card and already have the practical skills, we can assist you in gaining your City & Guilds NVQ 3 in Wood Occupations whilst you are in or about to leave the armed forces if you are able to demonstrate that you are working within the trade.  Our assessors will visit you and complete on-site assessments within the workplace to review your competence against the national criteria.  You will receive on-line support throughout and underpinning knowledge will be delivered via home study packs, online training or theory sessions held at the centre.  In order to do this qualification you must already possess the NVQ Level 2 or have substantial experience in the trade, our assessor will guide you towards the correct level.

In order to gain your qualification, you will  submit a portfolio of evidence either via an electronic or a paper based portfolio in which you will prove your competence, evidence may include:

  • Factual accounts of your work
  • Witness testimonies from your customers or site managers
  • Photographic evidence of the jobs you complete
  • Copies of site plans and drawings
  • Observations from your assessor

Once you have achieved your NVQ you are then able to sit an online CITB Health & Safety test at a local testing centre and once achieved, apply for your trade CSCS card.  You are then able to progress to the NVQ Level 3 in Occupational Work Supervision or an NVQ Level 4 in Site Supervision should your job role allow still using your ELCAS funding.
