We are looking to recruit a Learning and Development Coordinator to support our Curriculum Team!

As a Learning and Development Coordinator for Train4All, you will be supporting the development of our learners and apprentices’ skills, knowledge, and behaviours by reviewing targets and communicating with employers to support the progress of learners. You will utilise a full and varied range of support techniques with learners at Train4All and/or the workplace or virtually.

ECITB Scholarships equip the next generation of engineers with the skills needed for engineering construction projects both for now and the future. And this full time off-the-job plating programme enables learners to gain relevant industrial skills and knowledge as well as an industry-recognised qualification and CCNSG Safety passport. With employers on board from the start, this is a fantastic way to obtain an apprenticeship after 9 months of practical training!

A week-long celebration that brings together businesses and apprentices across the country to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make to individuals, businesses and the wider economy.

We will be holding our Open Event on Thursday 12th February from 4.00 pm - 6.30pm. Come along and have a go at welding, engineering and construction and chat to the team about options available for full time scholarships and apprenticeships. If you are not sure what you are looking to do when you leave school, why not book onto our first taster session of the year, or join us for our Information Event. Come and try your hand at bricklaying, plastering, carpentry or welding and fabrication. Meet the team and current learners plus have a go on our virtual welder if that is an area you are interested in. We have lots of opportunity for apprenticeships and also full time courses next year, so come and try before you apply!

Train4All are delighted to be offering an ECITB Welding Scholarship from September this year.

ECITB Scholarships equip the next generation of engineers with the skills needed for engineering construction projects both for now and the future and this exciting full-time off-the-job engineering programme enables learners to gain the requisite industrial skills and knowledge as well as an industry-recognised qualification and CCNSG Safety passport, preparing them for potential progression onto a suitable Level 3 apprenticeship when they successfully complete the scholarship.

We are pleased to confirm that Train4All has received an excellent outcome from their recent Ofsted Provider Monitoring visit. A monitoring visit is an interim type of inspection to assess progress and risk and to encourage improvement.  On monitoring visits, inspectors arrive at progress judgements against themes.

These progress judgements are:

• insufficient progress
• reasonable progress
• significant progress

Train4All is an independent learning provider specialising in Construction and Engineering and were pleased to welcome an Ofsted inspection team to take a deeper look at our Skills Bootcamp delivery as part of a Provider Monitoring Visit. The inspection team visited us in late January and spoke to a cross-section of the organisation, including directors, managers, programme leads, trainers, employers and participants.

We are pleased to share that this was a successful process, with Ofsted reporting the following across three themes:

1. How much progress have leaders and managers made in designing and delivering relevant adult provision that has a clearly defined purpose – Significant Progress

• Leaders have established excellent links with employers.  They collaborate with employers very effectively to plan tailored training which prepares learners exceptionally well for employment and apprenticeships.
• Leaders use their industrial knowledge exceptionally well to codesign with employers training that meets skills shortages in welding and fabrication.
• Leaders make excellent use of feedback they receive from partners to improve the quality of training and to ensure that they have appropriate systems in place to support learners and monitor progress.

2. How much Progress have leaders and managers made to ensure that learners benefit from high-quality adult education that prepares them well for their intended job role, career aim and/or personal goals? –Reasonable progress

• Tutors are knowledgeable and passionate about the subjects they teach.  Tutors plan projects which are fun and engage learners well in the development of their welding skills.  As a result, learners develop confidence in their use of a wide range of welding equipment, such as metal inert gas (MIG) and tungsten inert gas (TIG) welders.
• Learners enjoy their studies.  They value the way tutors use their knowledge and experience of industry to help them to develop their skills.
• Learners receive helpful and constructive written and verbal feedback from tutors.

3. How much progress have leaders and managers made in ensuring that effective safeguarding arrangements are in place? – Significant progress

• Leaders have put age-appropriate arrangements in place to keep learners safe.  Learners feel safe and know who to go to if they have a concern.
• Leaders and tutors provide exceptional care and support for vulnerable leaners who are experiencing significant health and personal difficulties so they can complete their studies and gain sustained employment.
• Leaders ensure that those learners who need it receive mentoring to help them with their mental health.

The report concluded: “Nearly all of those learners who start a bootcamp with Train4All receive an interview with an employer and gain employment in the subject they have studied”.

Its National Apprenticeship week and to celebrate we are holding an Open Evening on Thursday 13th February from 3.00pm - 6.00pm at the centre in Somerton. If you are a school leaver or even someone working already within welding or construction and looking to get qualified, come along and see how we can support with your apprenticeship journey.

Employers, if you are looking to take an apprentice this year, come along and chat through the process. At Train4All, we do not work in academic terms, so whenever you want to recruit, or start an existing employee on an apprenticeship, just drop us a line or give us a ring and we can start your apprentice straight away.

We are delighted to be offering Skills Bootcamps again at Train4All in partnership with Somerset Council, Dorset and Somerset Training Provider Network and the Dorset LEP.

This new Fabrication and Welding Skills Bootcamp will see candidates develop their engineering skills and receive a guaranteed interview with local and national employers and with recruitment agencies looking to support local employers with additional work force.
