This 1-day course is designed to ensure that operatives working on site at Hinkley Point C and other infrastructure projects are competent in the safe use of Abrasive Wheels. At the end of the course learners will be able to safely use abrasive wheels, identify and assess associated risks.

- Explain relevant health and safety factors associated with the use of abrasive wheels
- Explain the methods of identifying abrasive wheel types
- Explain safe handling practices for abrasive wheels
- Describe the types of abrasive wheels and their operating equipment
- Use abrasive wheel equipment during work activities

Practical assessment and theoretical examination.

Course Requirements*
Learners must provide their own safety footwear and fire proof overalls to wear within the workshop.
